We can face a variety of challenges but we work through them as a team by having a strong communication ethic.

  • Why did you choose to work for us?

I had just finished being sub-contracted for 3 years where I worked in Procurement. An existing Medvivo employee asked if I would come and help out in the HR team (specifically Recruitment) on a short-term basis as they were so busy and I had relevant HR/Recruitment experience.

And I am still here nearly 4 years later!!

  • What do you get up to on a typical day?

That is so hard to quantify because we don’t have a typical day, every day is different.  Usually the day begins by going through my emails, checking if any Recruitment Requisitions have been submitted, in which case they are added to our recruitment management system.

If we have received CVs for new applicants I would then liaise with the relevant managers to progress them through the system.

There are a many different other tasks that crop up depending on the status of vacancies being recruited for. This might include writing adverts and job descriptions, arranging interviews, producing contracts and offer letters, co-ordinating inductions for new starters, as well as attending various types of internal and external meetings.

Within the team, we also send out requests for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.  There are various processes to follow with a range of daily tasks.

  • What do you like most about working here?

I like the fact that every day is different and busy. I have a great colleague who is equally as busy doing the same thing but for different managers and we have a very supportive manager.  It is really full on every day with plenty to keep the whole Recruitment Team busy!

The variety of the work and being one third of this amazing team is great, but most of all I like the people here.

  • What makes someone successful here?

They must be a team player and a really hard worker.  They must be willing to help out in other areas when required.  They must be kind and empathic.

  • How are you supported in your role?

My manager and colleague are very supportive; in fact we all support each other on a daily basis.  It’s great to be managed by someone who ensures we have what we need to be successful in our roles and who is also instrumental in improving our processes.

We can face many challenges within the team, and we get through them as a team by having a strong communication ethic. We catch up on a daily basis to review any matters, and work together to solve them by talking, listening and acting on good advice from within the team.

  • What makes us unique as an employer?

I think it’s the people we employ.  They are wonderful and the best in the business thereby allowing us to provide the best possible service to the people who need us.

  • What would you say to someone who is thinking of working for us?

Look at our website, look at the roles available, call the Recruitment Team who will talk you through what is currently available, and if you think you have what it takes to join us and make a valuable contribution then apply.  Your application will always be welcome, as will you be!
