Daisy
Senior HR Advisor

I look forward to coming to work because I know that whatever challenges the day will bring I am surrounded by people who work hard, and care about what we do.

  • Why did you choose to work for us?

When I completed my degree I was unsure what path I wanted my career to take. I had worked for Medvivo in the call centre during my uni holidays and so returned on a permanent basis after uni in a number of different roles before joining the HR team. I liked the work that Medvivo do, and the family feel of the company.

  • What work did you do before you joined us?

    I was at university.

  • What do you get up to on a typical shift?

In my role as Senior HR Advisor I spend a lot of my day advising Line Managers about supporting and managing their teams. We provide information to the business for compliance and management purposes and I am responsible for pulling some of these reports together.

  • What do you like most about working here?

The people. I look forward to coming to work because I know that whatever challenges the day will bring I am surrounded by people who work hard, and care about what we do.

  • What has been your biggest achievement?

The progression I have made in my role is something I am really proud of – when I started within the HR Team five years ago, there was just me and one other person. Over the years the team has grown and changed and I have been able to develop into a role through those changes.

  • What challenges do you face in your role?

The nature of the work we do means that everyone is always very busy which can present its challenges! Asking for help/or spotting a colleague in need helps to overcome particularly busy or difficult times. This isn’t just within teams, but across the organisation.

  • What makes someone successful here?

    - Commitment – if you are committed to Medvivo then Medvivo are committed to you.
    - Passion.
    - Patient/Customer focused.
    - Hard working.
    - You have to care.

  • How are you supported in your role?

My Line Manager provides support and guidance whenever I need it. We are the kind of team that work closely together and support each other. I was also encouraged to undertake an MA in HR Management a few years ago.

  • How does the approach to flexible working patterns suit you?

If flexible working is required this is something I know I can speak to my manager about openly. In my role I regularly advise Managers in how to support their team in flexible working requests which I think is something I believe we try to accommodate as much as possible whilst maintaining the needs of the service.

  • What makes us unique as an employer?

We really are a friendly, caring organisation which is passionate about providing the best possible services for our patients and customers.

  • What would you say to someone who is thinking of working for us?

I would recommend they come and see for themselves what we are really like! We often get feedback from new starters and potential candidates on how welcoming and friendly we are!
