Samantha
Deputy Service Lead - Response

The roles can be challenging, but with support and encouragement, we can achieve anything.

  • Why did you choose to work for us?

Having worked within domiciliary care for several years, I wanted a challenge that would offer stability.

It was also important for me to be able to spend time with service users to fulfil their needs. That extra time with service users is key, without the constant pressure of needing to get to the next appointment.

  • What do you typically do as part of your role?

As a Deputy Service Lead, I spend most of my time looking to improve service delivery. Our aim is to give the service users the best possible service and provide support to our team to achieve this.

There is no such thing as a standard day for me, as requirements are constantly evolving. I spend time collating data and reporting, in order to gain an understanding of where improvements can be made.

We are always striving as a team to provide the best possible support for all involved.

  • What do you like most about working here?

I enjoy the feeling of being part of a work family. There is always someone in the organisation who is happy to offer help, or just a listening ear.

It is fantastic to see how deeply my colleagues care about what they do, along with their passion to get the best outcome. This is a standard which is consistent through Medvivo, including the Executive Management Team who are always there for support.

I really appreciate the culture demonstrated throughout Medvivo, where good work is recognised and each mistake or concern is a learning path for continuous improvement.

  • What has been your biggest achievement or something you’ve been most proud of? – e.g. Star Awards, Compliments, Training Certificates.

Since starting with Medvivo some 9 years ago I have developed my skills in several areas. My biggest achievement is successfully completing my Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care and being given the time and support to make the most of the opportunity.

The qualification has given me the opportunity to improve my career prospects in the long term. It was always my ambition to obtain a level 5 qualification because it gives me experience and understanding of the complexities and management of social care.

My proudest achievement is being able to lead such a fantastic team that truly care. Despite the challenges the team face at times, they always stand together and deliver the highest standard of care.

The compliments they receive daily not only make me proud, but the way they change lives is emotionally moving. I feel such pride in being a cog in this exceptional wheel.

  • What makes someone successful here?

Being genuine, a team player and having a passion to always improve and grow.

  • How are you supported in your role in terms of team management and training/development?

The support is second-to-none and is the reason I have progressed in my career here and continue to do so.

Everyone here is so approachable and they demonstrate care in everything they do. We encourage growth and development, so any training requests are always given consideration, even if it is not directly connected to your current role.

  • What would you say to someone who is thinking of working for us or why would you recommend working here?

Based on my experience, the family feeling makes working at Medvivo so enjoyable. The roles can be challenging, but with support and encouragement, we can achieve anything.
