Do you enjoy working in a public-facing capacity? Would you like to work in a varied role where no two shifts are the same? We have a number of part-time opportunities for Urgent Care Assistants based at Salisbury hospital who will interact with patients, carers and staff in order to assist Medvivo in the delivery of safe and effective care.
Since 2004, Medvivo has built an excellent reputation for providing round the clock care services that are second to none. We are proud of our Outstanding CQC rating which we achieved for the second time in February this year. Our services includes Integrated Urgent Care delivering a Clinical Assessment Service, GP Out of Hours, Single Point of Access (SPA), and Response and we also use our urgent care model to support Primary Care. We’re committed to delivering truly integrated, patient first care for our service users – and we let nothing get in the way of working together to deliver.
Joining the Integrated Urgent Care service based at Salisbury hospital, you’ll play a key role in the team providing a professional, responsive central point of contact for both patients and clinicians. You will be involved in assisting with the handling of calls, carrying out general administrative and reception duties, performing daily checks of drugs, stock and equipment for the service vehicles and driving clinicians to visit patients at home.
Full training is provided, so previous knowledge of working in a health and social care environment isn’t essential, but you should have experience of dealing with the public both face to face and over the phone. You’ll have personal skills that will enable you to empathise with and reassure patients, relatives and carers. You will also have the ability to work under pressure and to act professionally in emergency or stressful situations. You will need a full UK Driving Licence and you should have a good level of driving experience.
We have a number of shifts available to cover evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with a minimum of 10 hours per week worked on a fixed 4 week shift pattern.
